Arjun Govind

An architect whose understanding of building comes from the ground itself - from earth, stone, and the hands of the craftsmen he has worked alongside. At Koodu, he leads the material and tectonic direction of every project.

Arjun's relationship with architecture was shaped not in studios but on site - in the rural landscapes of South India, where he spent years building with earth, natural materials, and traditional construction methods. His time at Cuckoo Forest School near Thiruvannamalai gave him a deep, embodied understanding of how materials behave, how structures rise, and how buildings serve the communities they belong to. At Koodu, Arjun leads the material and tectonic direction of the practice. He carries an intuitive sense for craft and construction that grounds every project in physical reality - ensuring that what is imagined can be built, and what is built is made to last.

Tharun Eswar

An architect and computational designer who brings systems-level thinking and creative rigour to the practice. He shapes the intellectual and technological direction of the studio.

Tharun's journey through architecture moved from practice into the discipline's deeper questions - what architecture can be, how it thinks, and how imagination is extended through technology. His Masters at CEPT University immersed him in computational design, critical theory, and the rigour of architectural thought, studying under those who challenged the boundaries of the field. His time at AECOM, working on large-scale projects across the Middle East and Australia, gave him an understanding of how complex systems come together at scale. At Koodu, Tharun leads the studio's work in generative design, digital fabrication, and design automation - always searching for the point where precision and imagination meet.

Architect

John Fonarcus

An architect with a sharp eye for detail and a deep interest in how people inhabit the spaces designed for them. At Koodu, he brings care and rigour to the process of turning ideas into resolved architecture.

John believes that good design begins with understanding - of the context, the user, and the life a space is meant to hold. A graduate of the Chennai Academy of Architecture and Design, his approach blends attentiveness to detail with a genuine curiosity for how architecture meets the needs of the people it serves. His skills span drafting, 3D visualisation, and generative tools, and he brings a quiet precision to every stage of a project. At Koodu, John works at the heart of the design process - translating the studio's creative vision into architecture that is both context-driven and deeply considered.
